CoFuFun

21st Century

A new kind of kofun tomb, creating connections and excitement.

Visitors getting off at Tenri Station often have one question: what on earth are all of these round white structures?!? It is a one of a kind place called CoFuFun!

Combining the words “kofun (tomb)” and “fun”, CoFuFun is an open area in front of JR and Kintetsu Tenri Station, designed to create connections and excitement. These white structures were inspired by the shape of a kofun tomb, of which there are over 1,600 in Tenri City. An exciting, futuristic interpretation of local history, CoFuFun features a playground for every generation, an outdoor stage, a café, and spaces to sit and relax.

A park-like atmosphere, on weekends, we often hear children laughing in the playground, or passionate performances from the CoFuFun stage. A local market is held a few times a month, with vendors selling a variety of things like food, accessories, local produce, etc.

Right in front of two stations and continuing to the Tenri Main Street, CoFuFun is a fun and convenient place to stop by when enjoying the heart of Tenri City.
